How we met:
Jon and Lisa both attended Mid Pacific Institute in Honolulu, Hawaii. They had friends in common, but were couple of years apart and were never formally introduced. After graduation, Lisa left Hawaii to study Sociology at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington. She then moved to Seattle to find her way in the world.
Jon attended the University of Hawaii after graduation, then transferred to Winter Park, Florida with a mutual friend to study Sound Engineering at Full Sail. He then moved to Seattle to find his way in the world.
Lisa worked in a Seattle building only two blocks from Jon's apartment, where he lived with a mutual friend. Somehow they still never met.
After working for six years in Seattle, Lisa wanted to try out the tech industry in Honolulu. She moved back to Hawaii in late 2001.
After working and launching a successful career as a sound artist in Seattle, Jon was offered a position in Hawaii at an archeology firm and moved back to Honolulu in late 2002. He earned his degree in Anthropology at the University of Hawaii while working part-time, and was later awarded a full-time position at the same firm.
Jon and Lisa finally met at a mutual friend's New Year's Eve party.
